Talking about Paris is one of my favorite things to do, as it is one of my favorite cities in the world. I have always dreamed about going to Paris and when I finally had the chance to do so, I was in complete awe. Although, I spent a very short time there (a day and a half to be exact); it was one of the greatest experiences I’ve had thus far and I cannot wait to make my way back to the city of love.
Since I was in Paris for a short time, I didn’t get to fully experience it, but luckily I did end up visiting some of the most famous landmarks. Of course, one of my favorites was the Eiffel Tower since it was something I wanted to see ever since I started studying French in Junior High. Paris is huge and is divided by a couple of districts. I was staying in the 7th district; right around where the Eiffel Tower was located. Being able to see it from my hotel was amazing and with a twenty minute walk, I found myself right in front of it. I recommend going to see the Eiffel Tower at night. It lights up and I had absolutely no idea, so I was very shocked but in a positive way and it is just remarkable to see. It is hands down one of my favorite memories. Now make sure you check it out during the day as well, because there are plenty of places to just sit around and enjoy the view.
The Louvre is one of the most known museums in the world and holds one of the most famous paintings in the world; the Mona Lisa. It is filled with many paintings and sculptures including the famous Nike and the Venus de Milo. This tourist attraction is for big art lovers, but even if that is not your scene, it is still an interesting walk through all the exhibits. Also, how many people can say they saw the real Mona Lisa in a bullet proof frame? Don’t be surprised when you find out that the Mona Lisa is not a very big peace of art. For some reason my expectations were that it was this huge painting, but nope just a regular sized, good ol’ picture with crazy eyes.

Paris also has free tours that will take you around and show you some pretty cool sites. It meets in a certain location, so if you want to take advantage of this tour make sure you look up the times and locations online. Just search free walking tours in Paris and few options will show up. The tour is actually very informative and fun. It allows you to see a lot in a short period of time. Make sure to tip your tour guide at the end because that is how they are able to provide these guided free tours.
Another beautiful thing that must be seen is Notre Dame. A church that is unbelievably beautiful on the outside as much as it is on the inside. The presence of being inside gives off this indescribable feeling. It is so serene and almost magical.
One of my favorite things about Paris and Europe in general is all the outdoor markets that they have. Containing fresh food, little trinkets and filled with so much culture makes it a perfect way to spend your afternoon. Do not leave Paris without trying crepes, I repeat do not leave without having at least one crepe. They are mouthwatering and you just have to try it, trust me on this one.
If you are lucky enough to share Paris with someone special, don’t forget to leave a lock on Lovers’ Bridge for a final touch and it will sure bring you back to this marvelous city.
Happy travels – xoxo Dre <3
